A journalist reporting from the U.S., Thailand and across Asia
Hi! I'm Wasamon Audjarint, a multimedia journalist. After almost a decade of reporting across the globe, I am now taking a career hiatus to pursue MA, Politics at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism with $35,000 program scholarship.
My most recent employer is Voice of America, the largest U.S. international broadcaster in Washington, D.C. I moved from my native Bangkok, Thailand in early 2020 just as the pandemic started. I vigorously covered plights of Thai diaspora in the U.S. and overseas, the U.S. politics, Thai politics and foreign affairs, Southeast Asian affairs and press freedom, among other subject matters.
Versatility is my power. I can do things from reporting in English and Thai, running radio-on-tv production, managing social media, co-hosting podcasts to creating infographics. I also have experiences in newspaper, public diplomacy and being an assistant reporter/fixer.
My reports are published in over seven media outlets in the U.S. and Asia. I am also a foreign affairs committee member of the Thai Journalists Association in Bangkok, to where I provide advices on external relations building virtually from my base in the U.S.
